It was fairytale introduction for the new Spaniard Victor Perez Alonso into the Red and Gold brigade as he became instrumental in a brilliant comeback after his introduction in the second half as Quess East Bengal FC defeated TRAU FC by 4-2 at the Khuman Lampak Stadium today evening.

Coach Mario Rivera only made a single change from the last game as Juan Mera came back into the eleven replacing Brandon. He also kept new signing Victor Perez in the bench as the game started.

The first half was a very average display from the Red and Gold brigade as they conceded a silly goal from a poor mistake by goalkeeper Lalthuammawia Ralte. Ralte misjudged the flight and Princewell Emeka made no mistake in heading home the ball as the home side took the lead in the 18th minute.

Brandon Vanlalremdika was introduced just after the goal in place of injured Lalrindika Ralte however the attacks from Quess East Bengal FC hardly put any threat to the TRAU FC defence. The slow buildup from the visitors were easily predictable and moves were cutted out by the physically dominant TRAU defence as teams went into halftime.

Coach Mario Rivera introduced new import Victor Perez Alonso right at the start of the second half and the 32 year old Spaniard took control of the game from his very first touch. The tempo of the game began to increase and Red and Gold brigade went full throttle to get the equaliser. It took just 7 minutes as Jaime Santos Colado took a powerful shot from a layoff by Marcos Espada which got deflected and ended at the back of the net as Quess East Bengal FC equalised in the 52nd minute.

The goal charged up the entire Red and Gold brigade and they advanced in search to take the lead commanded by Victor Perez Alonso who pulled all the strings in the midfield. It was his setpiece delivery in the 67th minute from the right which was headed back by Marcos Espada onto Kassim Aidara who made no mistake to put it in the back of the net to get his second goal of the campaign as Quess East Bengal FC took a 2-1 lead.

Brandon Vanlalremdika had been very mobile in the left wing and his constant runs saw him get one-on-one with the goalkeeper from another brilliant pass from Marcos Espada, which he made no mistake as he fired a low powerful shot to double the lead just 2 minutes later.

The match looked completely under the control for the Red and Gold brigade and they secured it with when Kassim’s shot struck the hand of a TRAU FC defender and referee awarded a penalty to Quess East Bengal FC. Marcos de la Espada who had 3 assists to his name in the game, made no mistake from the spot as he scored his 6th goal of the campaign as Quess East Bengal FC led 4-1 in the 76th minute.

The home side did reduce the margin late in the game from a penalty which was awarded when Asheer Akhtar fouled Princewell Emeka inside the box. Oguchi Uche made no mistake as he reduced the margin with a brilliantly taken penalty kick to make it 2-4 in the 86th minute.

The victory will mean Quess East Bengal FC move up to the 4th spot in the League table with 18 points from 13 matches as they will prepare to face Churchill Brothers on 29th January at Home. Coach Mario Rivera will be worried however as Kassim Aidara got his 4th booking of the campaign and will be suspended for the game against Churchill Brothers.
