It is exciting times for the Red and Gold fans all around as the East Bengal officials have indeed stepped up their game to assemble a strong squad for the upcoming season. The news of signing of a foreigner, the Iranian winger Omid Singh has already become public and now as per sources, the East Bengal team management are in hunt to rope in 2019/20 ISL runners up Chennaiyin FC’s Brazilian attacking midfielder Rafael Crivellaro.
If reports are to be believed, the Red and Gold brigade has offered a hefty sum to lure in the Brazilian playmaker from Chennaiyin FC. The 31 year old left footed attacking midfielder has made 20 appearances in the 2019/20 season, scoring 7 goals and assisting 8 of them as his team went on to reach the Final of the ISL, where they lost out to ATK.
Rafael Crivellaro has played in Europe’s top divisions in Portugal and Poland and has also featured in the Europa League with Vitoria Guimarães. He has also played in the Persian Gulf Pro League in 2017/18 with Sepahan FC before coming to India and joining Chennaiyin FC in 2019/20.
However, all depends on whether East Bengal FC plays in the ISL and only then the team management would initiate further talks with the Brazilian. The player’s agent has also claimed that the Rafael Crivellaro would join East Bengal only if they play in the ISL.
If the deal does go through, East Bengal officials would surely make a statement in the transfer market about their ambitions for the upcoming season.
