Transfer Rumours: East Bengal FC set to rope in ATK forward!

East Bengal FC officials have been the most active amidst the lockdown period it seems with their activities in the transfer market. They have already secured the availability of Iranian winger Omid Singh for the upcoming season and now as per sources they are all set to rope in Indian national team and ATK forward Balwant Singh on a 2 years contract.
Balwant Singh has been one of the consistent performers among Indian strikers in the Indian football circuit. He has played for a number of top teams like ATK, Mumbai City FC and Mohun Bagan, the later with whom he had won the I-League back in 2014/15. The 33 year old from Punjab has made 8 apps and scored 1 goal in the 2019/20 season for ATK as they went on to become the champions.
East Bengal officials have been constantly rumoured to have been after Indian national team forwards Jeje Lalpekhlua and Balwant Singh and as per sources, Balwant Singh has agreed terms and is likely to don the Red and Gold kit for the upcoming season.
The signing of Balwant Singh would certainly be a big statement by the East Bengal officials as the fans are awaiting the announcement of the club playing in the ISL from the upcoming season. There are few more players who are linked with the club and the fans can certainly hope for exciting times in coming weeks.
