Transfer Rumours: East Bengal FC linked with ATK FC defender!

East Bengal FC team management are certainly not slowing themselves down in the transfer market in their aim to build a squad for participating in the Indian Super League from the upcoming season. As per reports, the team management has started talking with ATK FC defender Anil Chawan and hoping to bring him in for the upcoming season.

Anil Chawan began his career in the SESA Academy in Goa. In the 2017/18 season, he led his team as a 20 year old to a stellar performance in the Goa Pro League where he made 12 appearance, scored two goals and made 5 assists.

His impressive performance led to Indian Super League side ATK FC signing him up for the 2019/20 season where he was sent to their reserve side, as he made appearances in the Durand Cup, Calcutta Football League Division One and I-League 2nd Division. His performance impressed the scouts and the versatile defender has been a lookout for clubs.

East Bengal FC have already roped in Gurtej Singh and Mohammed Irshad who can play as centre-backs however they are still in hunt for another Indian defender. The talks with Anil Chawan has been undergoing but nothing is confirmed as of yet. As per sources, the club is also having talks with veteran India national team defender Anas Edathodika and hoping to get either of them, if not both for the upcoming season.
