After confirming the recruitments of Omid Singh, Novin Gurung, Balwant Singh, Gurtej Singh and Lalramchullova, the East Bengal FC recruiters are once again looking to get another Indian forward into the team and as per sources, they have began talks with Mohun Bagan’s V. P. Suhair and are looking to get him onboard for the upcoming season.
VP Suhair has previously played for the Red and Gold brigade in 2017/18 season, becoming one of the few players to score a hat-trick on debut for the Red and Gold brigade. He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury which caused him to miss the rest of the season.
The Keralian lad came back from injury and joined the Green and Maroon brigade in the 2019/20 season and was an important member in their I-League triumph as he scored 2 goals and assisted twice in 16 appearances. His partnership with Papa Babacar Diawara was one of the definitive feature of the brilliant Mohun Bagan attacking lineup in the I-League campaign.
The East Bengal FC recruiters have already signed Balwant Singh as one of the Indian forwards and they are certainly in hunt for another Indian forward. If things go smoothly, the fans can certainly expect to see VP Suhair return back to the club for the upcoming season.
