Promising East Bengal FC striker joins TRAU FC!

East Bengal FC academy graduate and young striker Khangembam Bidyasagar Singh has officially signed for his home state I-League club TRAU FC for the upcoming season.
Bidyasagar Singh graduated from the U18 team in 2018 and was part of the U18 I-League runners up squad. He was promoted to the senior team in 2018 and scored his debut goal in the I-League against Shillong Lajong FC away at Shillong. In 2019/20, Bidyasagar Singh had a terrific start to the season, having scored 8 goals in 12 matches in the CFL and Durand Cup. However, he fell out of the ranks and made just 5 appearances in the I-League for the Red and Gold brigade.
The loss of Bidyasagar Singh is surely another blow for the East Bengal FC youth system as another promising academy graduate set forth elsewhere. Previously we had seen the likes of Yami Longvah, Jhantu Prasad, Suranjit Singh etc. leave the club for their careers elsewhere. There are rumours about Mehtab Singh too leaving the club for ISL side Mumbai City FC for the upcoming season.
The club management surely needs to rethink about the youth development program as loosing out on talents like these would surely cost the team in the upcoming future. Bidyasagar Singh was a promising talent and the fans would surely be unhappy to see him don the colours of a different club in the upcoming season. Bidyasagar had made 29 appearance for the senior team and had scored 9 goals in his two seasons for the club.
