Sattyik Sarkar, BADGEB: East Bengal FC have completed the signing of former Brisbane Roar FC defender Scott Neville on a season long loan. A Western Australia NTC and Perth Glory youth product, Scott Neville has played twenty five matches for Brisbane Roar FC in the 2019-20 season.
Scott’s senior career started with Perth Glory way back in 2008 when he came on as a substitute against Central Coast Mariners. His starting debut came the following week against Melbourne Victory, against whom he was awarded the Man of the Match award. Apart from Brisbane Roar, he has spent four seasons at Perth Glory, three seasons at Newcastle Jets and two seasons at Western Sydney Wanderers in the A-League.
In 2017, he came back to Perth Glory and went forward to play for a couple of seasons before joining Brisbane Roars FC in 2019 under Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler, who turned him into a right-sided centre back of the three-man backline of his preferred 3-4-1-2 formation. Neville went to play 25 matches for the Roars, being named as one of the best defenders of the season, as they finished 4th in the A-League until the league was called off due to the pandemic.
Although a right-back initially, the East Bengal fans will see the English born Aussie, Scott Neville play as a central-defender for Robbie Fowler once again, alongside the rumoured signing Danny Fox. The fans can surely hope that the defensive duo of Fox and Neville will hunt down the strikers in the upcoming season.
