Just 2 days remain as Quess East Bengal FC begins their campaign for the 2019-20 I-League as they take on Real Kashmir FC on 4th December at the Kalyani Stadium.

Coach Alejandro Menendez has been playing a 4-2-3-1 formation since he has arrived and maintained the same formation since the beginning of the current season too. So let us predict the first-11 for Quess East Bengal FC for the first game against Real Kashmir FC:

Lalthuammawia Ralte has been the main man for Alejandro Menendez since his arrival at the beginning of the season on loan from FC Goa. The custodian has won the trust of the Red and Gold faithful and is likely to start under the bar for most of the matches. Mirshad and Dagar too are in the contention but Ralte is likely to be first choice.

Defence has been the USP for Alejandro and his men. In the absence of Borja Gomez, Marti Crespí and Mehtab Singh is likely to start as the centre back pairing. Abhishek Ambekar is automatically the first choice left back since his arrival from arch-rivals Bagan. The right back position is tricky as Samad Ali Mallick has been very good in the attack but Alejandro preferred Kamalpreet Singh in the Pre-Season friendlies, so we predict Kamalpreet to start.

Captain Lalrindika Ralte is still ongoing his rehab and unlikely to feature hence newcomer Tondomba Naorem is to fit in alongside the omnipresent Kassim Aidara who will be captaining the side, as the double pivot in the midfield.

The 3 men in the attacking midfield position would not be easy to guess as Alejandro has quite a few options on his sleeves. Juan Mera and Jaime Santos are the certain two to start. In the right wing position Pintu Mahata will surely be challenged by Abhijit Sarkar, with likes of Boithang Haokip in contention too.

Marcos de la Espada would be the pick automatically over Ronaldo Oliveira and Bidyashagar Singh, even though the Spanish forward is yet to live upto his expectations. East Bengal’s hopes do rely on him firing goals as they look to end the wait for the I-League trophy.
