Quess East Bengal FC are all ready return to action as they are set to face one of the title contenders Churchill Brothers away at Fatorda Stadium on 4th January.

East Bengal have last played on 14th December against TRAU FC and won the game in the dying moments as Marti Crespí scored the winner.

We have our prediction for the starting eleven for the game against Churchill Brothers:

Goalkeeper:

Laldanmawia Ralte has failed to keep a cleansheet in any of the 4 matches. Mirshad and Rakshit Dagar sits on the bench waiting for an opportunity but we feel it will again be Ralte under the crossbar at Goa.

Coach Alejandro Menendez selects Ralte for his ability with the ball on his feet and his distribution capabilities, as it is important to the gameplay for the Red and Gold brigade.

Defence:

Mehtab Singh is all set to make a comeback after being out due to illness for last 2 matches. Him alongside Marti Crespí would be the possible centre back pairing.

Spanish defender Borja Gomez, who has been training with the first team and will be traveling with the team to Goa, is highly unlikely to get a start coming back from an injury.

Abhishek Ambekar would be the constant at the Left back position while Kamalpreet Singh will be back to his original position as Right back after playing in the central midfield for the last 2 games, covering for injured Tondomba Naorem.

Samad Ali Mallick has picked up an injury in the training on Wednesday and is most probably going to be sidelined for the game.

Midfield:

Tondomba Naorem is most likely to return in the midfield to partner Kassim Aidara as the double pivot.

Naorem got injured in the Punjab FC game and missed the NEROCA FC match. He did came on as a late substitute at Kalyani against TRAU FC.

In the attacking midfield position, Coach Alejandro Menendez has both good news and bad news for picking his first eleven!

Jaime Santos Colado is set to return after serving his 1 match suspension. Juan Mera along side Colado will be back once again as the main creative options for the team.

Pintu Mahata, who started in the right wing for all the 4 matches is unavailable due to sickness and it might open the door for Abhijit Sarkar, who might get his first start in the tournament, as a like-for-like replacement.

Since, it is an away game, Coach Alejandro Menendez is likely to switch to the 4-2-3-1 formation and not start with two forwards upfront like he did against TRAU FC.

Forward:

Marcos de la Espada is going to lead the line against the Goan opponents as has finally found his scoring boots.

With 3 goals in 4 matches till now, Marcos de la Espada will be the main target man once again for Alejandro Menendez’s team, as they look to grab a vital win away from home against a formidable Churchill Brothers side on Sunday.
