Juan Mera set to be released to make way for Johnny Acosta

If sources are to be believed then it could be end of the road for another Spanish import Juan Mera at Quess East Bengal FC as he is most likely to get the axe to make way for Costa Rican defender Johnny Acosta in the team.
It was earlier rumoured that Jaime Santos Colado was to be axed but the team management had issues in releasing Jaime as he has a two years contract until the end of 2020/21 season. Releasing him would mean the Red and Gold brigade had to pay quite a hefty price as termination fees to the Spaniard.
Instead the sacrifice is being made on his compatriot Juan Mera who had become a crowd favourite in his short stay with the club. Juan is also suffering from an injury which has caused him to sit out of the starting eleven for the last two matches and with midfielder Victor Perez Alonso also coming in, it was evident that Juan Mera was going to get the axe from the team management.
We will have to wait and see for the Official announcement and also when the new two foreigners arrive to join the team as the team will prepare to face TRAU FC and Churchill Brothers in the next two matches of the I-League campaign!
