The prestigious IFA Shield is all set to make a comeback to it’s former glory as a major tournament in the AIFF calendar as a tentative start date has been announced.

The 127 year old tournament is the second oldest football tournament in Asia and was one of the prestigious events in the football calendar till 2015, when it was made into a U19 tournament due to unavailability of space in the AIFF calendar.

Last year the U19 IFA Shield was won by the East Bengal FC U19 team defeating arch-rivals Mohun Bagan on penalties!
