Quess East Bengal FC team succumbed to yet another defeat, their 5th in 6 matches, as they lost 1-0 against Aizawl FC at the Kalyani Stadium in the Hero I-League clash today. The team has fallen down into 8th place in the league table with this defeat and are in serious danger of falling down further into relegation zone!

Coach Mario Rivera started with an Indian back four lineup with Spaniard Marti Crespí out of the 18 man squad. Marcos de la Espada was already suspended and Ansumana Kromah got his first start of the campaign!

Both the teams started the game in even pace, but as the game progressed, the Red and Gold brigade looked too slow and deep in their own half most of the time. They failed to build up any positive chances except for one chance for Ansumana Kromah, which narrowly missed the goal late in the first half!

The second half began just like the first half and the lackluster football prevailed with Ansumana Kromah finding himself lonely upfront most of the time. Brandon was the only live wire in the team, trying to conjure up something but lack of ideas in the final third ended all positive runs for Quess East Bengal FC!

As the game progressed, Aizawl FC coach introduced Matias Veron in place of forward Abdoulae Kanoute and once again in a sudden attacking movement, Veron pulled trigger with a lowly taken shot which glided past the outstretched hands of Mirshad to find the back of the net as Aizawl FC took the lead in the 76th minute!

The Red and Gold brigade had no answer to the Aizawl FC tactics and they continued same for the remainder of the game with not even one shot testing the Aizawl FC goalkeeper!

The game ended in a 1-0 win for the visiting side and Quess East Bengal FC succumbed to their 5th defeat in 6 matches, putting them in the danger zone with 11 points from 10 matches, just 3 above the 10th place NEROCA FC!
