As we had previously reported, East Bengal FC are all set to announce the re-signing of last season’s captain Brandon Vanlalremdika for the upcoming season.
The departure of Quess Corp. as East Bengal FC’s investors and them terminating all the contracts of the players meant East Bengal FC had to renegotiate with all the players they wished to retain. The club had already announced the re-signing of goalkeeper Mirshad Michu and now as per our sources, the negotiations are complete with Mizo winger Brandon Vanlalremdika.
The 26 year old Mizo winger has been a part of the East Bengal FC team since 2017 after joining from Aizawl FC. In three seasons for the Red and Gold brigade, Brandon has made 68 appearances, which includes 40 appearances in the I-League, although most of them came in from the bench. The winger is however the least prolific of the players scoring just 6 times for East Bengal FC in all competitions.
As per sources, it was heard that East Bengal FC wanted a pay cut for the Mizo winger from his previous contract however Brandon didn’t agree to the new deal. After constant negotiations, finally both parties settled at a midpoint and the club is soon to announce the re-signing of last season’s captain for 2020/21.
