The wait for the new coach for East Bengal FC is over and the club has officially announced the name of the former North East United FC and Malaysia national team assistant Fransesco da Costa as the new coach for the upcoming season.
Fransesco da Costa completed his AFC Pro license coaching degree in 2015 and since then has been in charge of various aged group Indian national teams like the U14, U17, U19 and also the AIFF Elite Academy, before being appointed as the deputy of Nelo Vingada at North East United FC. Fransesco also followed Nelo to Malaysia where he took over as the deputy of the Portuguese for the Malaysian national football team in 2017.
Fransesco’s appointment will eradicate the need for an AFC Pro Licensed coach required for AIFF Licensing for the 2020/21 season.
