East Bengal FC officials call for an executive committee meeting today!
After having a hyper-active period in the transfer market last month, the East Bengal FC officials have been silent for the last few weeks as tensions between the investor group and club has developed into a new fiasco with both parties withholding the NOC for a formal termination of contract between the two parties, which would allow East Bengal FC to proceed to the next steps in the ambition of participating in the Indian Super League for the upcoming season.
The club officials have called in for an urgent emergency executive committee meeting today evening and it is expected that the main agenda would be about the financial situation the club is currently in. As per sources, the investor company still owes around 2 Cr. to the club which including various expenses and the club is not ready to let go of that sum.
Various sources have also claimed that East Bengal FC have still not yet finalized their new investors and this meeting could also have an agenda about the possible future investors and when the club can make an announcement.
The club is certainly in a crisis for sure as they now have to work against time to get things sorted. AIFF has let known that the club has to register their new entity with NOCs from both parties soon, otherwise there could be possibilities about East Bengal FC not participating in any of the AIFF’s competitions for the season.
The ever-so-patient fans would surely be waiting eagerly for the outcome of the meeting and expect something positive from the officials as tensions among the Red and Gold faithfuls have started to grow out of proportions.
