East Bengal FC have been in search of an Indian AFC Pro Licensed coach as we have previously mentioned. The club is yet to announce either the participation in the Indian Super League or the name of the new sponsor/investors. However, as per sources there is one name who have been heavily linked with East Bengal FC – Goanese AFC Pro Licensed coach Francisco Da Costa.

Francisco Da Costa completed his AFC Pro Licence in 2016 and joined NorthEast United FC as assistant manager under Nelo Vingada. The partnership became stronger as Francisco followed Nelo to become the assistant manager of the Malaysian National team the following year.

Francisco Da Costa have also served as the coach of the India U14, U16 and Elite Academy and has experience of working and developing the youth.

Along with few other names such as Santosh Kashyap, Derek Pereira, Clifford Miranda and Thongboi Singto; Francisco Da Costa’s name has been the most heavily linked for joining the Red and Gold brigade for the upcoming season.

It is however not confirmed if any deal has been struck between both the parties and the fans surely are expecting an announcement from the officials regarding all the pending declarations at the earliest.
